Our Pediatric Therapy Services!
Speech Therapy
Articulation therapy targets the accurate production of speech sounds to improve overall intelligibility and communication effectiveness. Intervention focuses on correct sound placement, coordination of the lips, tongue, and jaw, and the development of motor planning skills for consistent speech production. Therapy is individualized and progresses from practicing sounds in isolation to words, phrases, sentences, and ultimately conversational speech. Evidence-based techniques and structured practice are used to support carryover across settings, helping children communicate more clearly and confidently in everyday interactions.
Language Therapy
Language therapy targets the development of receptive and expressive language skills to support effective communication and comprehension. Intervention focuses on improving a child’s ability to understand spoken language, follow directions, and process information, as well as to express thoughts, ideas, and needs clearly. Therapy may address vocabulary development, sentence structure, grammar, narrative skills, and social use of language. Intervention is individualized and progresses from structured tasks to more functional communication in everyday contexts. Evidence-based strategies and meaningful practice are used to promote carryover across environments, helping children communicate more effectively and confidently in daily interactions.
Feeding/Swallowing Therapy
Feeding and swallowing therapy addresses difficulties with eating, drinking, and safely managing food and liquids. Intervention focuses on oral motor skills, sensory responses to food, chewing and swallowing coordination, and increasing acceptance of a variety of textures. Therapy is individualized to support safe, efficient feeding and positive mealtime experiences. Evidence-based strategies and caregiver education are used to promote carryover at home, helping children develop functional feeding skills and improved nutrition.
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
AAC therapy supports individuals who have difficulty using verbal speech by providing alternative ways to communicate. Intervention may include the use of picture systems, communication boards, or speech-generating devices. Therapy focuses on building functional communication skills such as requesting, commenting, and social interaction. Intervention is individualized and emphasizes consistent use across environments, with caregiver training to support carryover. AAC empowers individuals to effectively express their wants, needs, and ideas in daily life.
Social/Pragmatic Language Therapy
Social/pragmatic language therapy targets the use of language in social contexts to support effective interaction and relationship building. Intervention focuses on skills such as turn-taking, topic maintenance, understanding nonverbal cues, perspective-taking, and interpreting figurative language. Therapy is individualized and incorporates structured practice as well as real-life scenarios to promote generalization. Evidence-based strategies are used to help individuals navigate social situations with greater confidence and success.
Fluency Therapy
Fluency therapy addresses disruptions in the flow of speech, such as stuttering, to support smoother and more efficient communication. Intervention focuses on increasing awareness of speech patterns, reducing physical tension, and implementing strategies to improve speech fluency. Therapy may also address communication confidence and emotional responses related to speaking. Intervention is individualized and emphasizes carryover into everyday situations, helping individuals communicate more comfortably and confidently across settings.
Children develop new skills at their own pace, but when communication is difficult, it can be frustrating for both children and their caregivers. If you have concerns about your child’s language development, early support is important. Speech and language therapy focuses on building communication skills through engaging, play-based activities that are tailored to your child’s individual interests and needs.
We support children with a wide range of communication and feeding needs. Every child is different, and we meet them where they are to help them grow and succeed.
We often work with children who have difficulty speaking clearly or being understood, are late to talk or have trouble understanding language, or have diagnoses such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), childhood apraxia of speech (CAS), speech sound disorders (articulation/phonological disorders), developmental language delay or disorder, expressive and receptive language disorders, fluency disorders (stuttering), social/pragmatic language disorders, auditory processing disorder (APD/CAPD), reading difficulties or dyslexia, hearing loss or are hard of hearing, feeding and swallowing disorders (pediatric dysphagia), voice disorders, genetic or developmental conditions (such as Down syndrome), cognitive or developmental delays, and traumatic brain injury (TBI) or other neurological conditions.
Our goal is to support each child’s ability to communicate, connect, and participate confidently in everyday life.
